AUKETT+HEESE were commissioned by Macquarie Group in May 2010 for the redesign of their Frankfurt branch office. The existing two floors of closed cellular offices were to be rebuilt as flexible offices with an open character while the bank remained in operation.

The approximately 4,400 m² gross floor area was divided into different open office areas for each banking department. Single offices, internal meeting rooms and a few group offices subdivide the floor. The employees work in an open office environment or informal combination work and break areas, called “Work Plazas,” that are also available. The “Work Plazas” are equipped with lounge furniture and open tea kitchens with bar counter and bistro chairs. These spaces have become the favoured meeting points for exchange between the different departments. A multifunction room for training or special events is available to the different office areas for common use.

The entry level contains the reception and client service functions. Next to the reception is a comfortable waiting lounge and variously sized meeting rooms with specialized media technology. Two of the medium sized meeting rooms can be combined into a larger conference room.

AUKETT+HEESE provided the interior design, building application, construction design, as well as the supervision of the site management during the construction phase.
